Rock En Seine: Hit it.

Rock En Seine: Hit it.

Words by Camille Darroux

So you got your tickets to Reading or Leeds? Good for you. If you haven’t, though, there might still be a way to fill your festival cravings in late August, and get to spend some time in Paris on top of that.

Rock En Seine Festival took place for the first time in 2003, and has come a long way since then. This year’s edition will include 45 shows in 3 days and on 3 stages.  Taking place in a park just outside of Paris, the festival site can be reached with the metro, which is obviously highly convenient.

The top-notch lineup includes Oasis, Prodigy, MGMT, Vampire Weekend and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. We should all be excited about the latter, considering how good their latest record It’s Blitz! turned out to be. Many of this year’s hyped newcomers will also be playing, such as Esser, Passion Pit, Ebony Bones and The Asteroid Galaxy Tour, just to name a few.

On top of that, the festival will also host various music-themed exhibitions and a selection of 6 new French bands will be given the chance to perform among the other acts. Oh, and did I mention that the site offers camping facilities as well?

You can get your tickets and find out more about Rock en Seine festival under http://www.rockenseine.com/2009/index_en.php , so go take a look!
